Philadelphia band Three Legged Fox make a happy return to Arlene’s Grocery as a stop on their current national tour. The band, who blend reggae, roots, ska and pop, bring energy and a straightforward style to the stage.
The 2009 CD, Not As Far, was critically acclaimed and rapidly became a fan favorite. It features collaborations with the horn section of John Brown’s Body (who will hit NYC next Friday at Bowery Ballroom), Mark Boyce of the legendary G. Love & Special Sauce, Jacob Hemphill of SOJA and O.G. of Slightly Stoopid. The whole CD brought back fond memories of early 311 and Sublime. TLF, however, may be a tad more mature lyrically, which always wins points in this writer’s book. Her personal favorites are “Maybe I’m Sorry”, “Gone”, “Help”, and “Found Out”, but please, go out and discover which ones will warm your own ears.
